An earthquake of 6.6 magnitude hit a town in the US state of Alaska on Monday, a media report said. The earthquake hit about 145 kilometres west of Adak, a town located on Adak Island in Alaska, Xinhua news agency reported. According to the 2010 US census, Adak of the Aleutians West Census Area, which is the town closest to the epicentre, had a population of 326. While there has been no immediate report of injury or damage from the quake, Alaska experienced four tremors in the previous 48 hours. | ||||||||
