Sarojininagar MLA feted by CJI for his work for disabled Last Updated : 14 Aug 2023 03:25:36 PM IST Sarojininagar MLA feted by CJI for his work for disabled BJP MLA from Sarojininagar Rajeshwar Singh was felicitated by Chief Justice of India Dhananjay Y Chandrachud on Saturday for working to empower disabled people.
MLA Singh was felicitated during a programme organised by Tamana, an organisation working for physically and mentally challenged children in New Delhi.
The Sarojininagar MLA's efforts towards the empowerment of the disabled in his assembly area was shown in a small video clip during the event. The chief guest and the organizer of the programme, Tamanna Sangathan president and Padma Bhushan awardee Shyama Chona appreciated the unprecedented work done by MLA Singh for empowerment of the disabled people in Sarojininagar in a short span of nearly 18 months.
Dedicating this honour to the people of Sarojininagar, MLA Rajeshwar Singh said that providing assistive devices to "Divyangjans" and giving them emotional support is the biggest achievement of his life. He reiterated his pledge to provide all possible help to the disabled.
He said the award is inspiration, encouragement, and blessing for him on the path of public service.
