Massive dust storm hits UP, mango harvest damaged Last Updated : 04 May 2017 03:57:35 AM IST Agra: A view Taj Mahal during a storm in Agra on Wednesday.
A strong dust storm hit the Uttar Pradesh capital and many other parts of the state late on Wednesday, uprooting trees, power posts and bringing to halt traffic.
According to initial reports there are reports of widespread damage to property and the mango harvest in Malihabad belt outside Lucknow has been damaged big time.
At many places in the state capital, electricity wires snapped and poles were uprooted leading to power outages were reported from many localities.
At some places in the city, trees fell on passing cars and many ice-cream carts, rickshaws, bikes and cycles were overturned and hoardings blown away.
At the time of this report no causalities have been reported but officials say the actual extent of damage would only be known on Thursday morning as the dust storm had hit many far flung areas as well.
