Yogi Adityanath completes one month as CM: 50 decisions taken in 30 days

Ban on illegal slaughterhouses, creation of 'anti-Romeo" squads, power to all in the state, are some of the most popular decisions taken by Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath in just one month after assuming office.

Adityanath, a powerful monk with a strong following in eastern Uttar Pradesh, became a surprise Chief Minister  of Uttar Pradesh on March 19, with his Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) winning 325 seats in the 403-seat assembly in a landslide win.

Here take a look at the 50 decisions taken by the Adityanath's government in just one month after coming into power.

  1. Sealed illegal slaughterhouses
  2. Adityanath urged all ministers and government officials to shun siren, hooters and red beacons atop vehicles.
  3. Creation of ‘Anti Romeo Squad’ in order to prevent eve teasing and women harassment
  4. No Tobacco and Pan Masala in Government office premises
  5. Yogi Adityanath asked bureaucrats to work 18-20 hours a day else, they are free to leave
  6. Yogi Adityanath government has started work on setting up six All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) and 25 new medical colleges in the state
  7. Stay on UPPSC results
  8. CM ordered a blanket ban on smuggling of cows
  9. 25 acre land for huge Ramayana museum in Ayodhya
  10. Yogi directed UP police to adopt a zero tolerance towards crime
  11. Packaged food will be provided to malnourished children in Uttar Pradesh soon
  12. Sugar mill in Pilibhit, which has been closed for the last 15 years, would be restored under PPP mode.
  13. Uttar Pradesh Cabinet named the Agra airport after Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyay and airfield in Gorakhpur after Mayayogi Gorakhnath.
  14. Yogi Adityanath has told his ministers to declare assets, every year.
  15. Yogi transferred 61 Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officers

  19. Uttar Pradesh government signed an agreement with the Centre for "Power for All". The scheme aimed at providing power to all in the state.
  20. A scheme of providing LED bulbs, tube lights and energy efficient fans at cheap rates.
  21. An MoU was signed for providing of 10,000 solar panels by the Centre.
  22. Yogi implemented the "No Agent Inside Offices" rule in which the applicant can communicate directly with the RTO without any middleman or broker.
  23. Yogi's decision to abolish school and college holidays on birth anniversaries (jayantis) of great leaders and political icons.
  24. Special scholarships at all levels to Dalit students.
  25. His decision to make 30 districts defecation-free by December 31, 2017.
  26. Yogi Adityanath launched new ambulances equipped with life-saving technology. The 150 high-quality ambulances are eqipped to handle life threatening emergencies like cardiac arrest, stroke or respiratory failure.
  27. The Uttar Pradesh government will be helping poor Muslim families in organising weddings of their daughters. Besides extending monetary assistance of Rs 20,000 to each bride, the government will bear all the expenses for the mass wedding.
  28. Yogi Adityanath has ordered probe into ration card distribution in Uttar Pradesh.
  29. In yet another crackdown, Yogi Adityanath targeted the land mafia and encroachers in the state and decidec to form task force to check illegal possession of its land.
  30. Yogi Adityanath promises pothole-free roads by 15 June.
  31. Adityanath issued an order to Yoga education mandatory in govt schools and to start mandatory self-defence training for girl students.
  32. The CM has planned to end the activities of 'cheating mafia' during examinations and has ordered officials to blacklist all the centres where mass copying takes place and register FIR.
  33. Teachers of government schools have been warned not take private tuitions and has issued a directive to complete the syllabus in schools within 200 days. The attendance of teachers and students in the school will be monitored by biometric devices.
  34. The UP government has planned an ordinance to regulate private school fees and all the pvt schools in the state have been asked to sumit the detail of the fee structure.
  35. Uttar Pradesh has planned to introduce English in government schools from nursery instead of Class 6 and has plans to introduce foreign language options from class 10.
  36. The UP government has waived off crop loans of up to Rs 1 lakh of small and marginal farmers in the state.
  37. The government will from now buy 80 lakh metric tonnes of wheat from the farmers with the minimum sale price (MSP) of Rs 1,625 a quintal.
  38. Yogi Adityanath has revived the Jewar international airport project in Greater Noida. In 2001, then UP chief minister Rajnath Singh had proposed a greenfield Taj international airport and aviation hub (TIAH) at Jewar.
  39. The Chief Minister has directed all seven industrial development authorities in the state, including the Noida, Greater Noida and Yamuna Expressway authorities, to complete all under-construction projects in the scheduled time.
  40. The Yogi Adityanath government has decided to remove the word 'Samajwadi' from all government schemes, it will be replaced with 'Mukhyamantri'. 
  41. The UP government will distribute new Aadhaar-linked ration cards that will also have silicon chips and barcodes.
  42. Yogi has asked the Uttar Pradesh police to run a cleanliness drive at police stations and police line every Friday and the police officers themselves would clean the police stations.
  43. The UP government has also ordered probe in to Akhilesh's Gomti River Front project.
  44. Yogi has doubled the financial grant given to pilgrims of Kailash Mansarovar from Rs 50000 to Rs 1 lakh. He has also announced the construction of a Kailash Bhawan either in Ghaziabad, Noida or Lucknow.
  45. The chief minister has directed opening of 3000 generic medicine stores in the state under the Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Jann Aushadhi Pariyojan.
  46. Yogi has directed officials to start work on 'Bhagya Lakshmi Yojana' to give Rs 50,000 on the birth of girl child in poor families.
  47. Yogi has also announced Metro train projects for Gorakhpur and Jhansi.
  48. The new government will form a new industrial policy soon.
  49. Yogi government will bring in Chhattisgarh model on buying of wheat UP farmers.
  50. Vowing to save river Ganga from pollution, Yogi Adityanath has directed officials to shift British-era tanneries in Kanpur to some other place.
