A seven-year-old was raped here by the son of the house-owner, who had rented out the accommodation to the victim's family.
The incident occurred on February 26 in Vrindavan Garden residential colony, when Mohit Singh's son lured the child to the ground floor of the house and raped her in an abandoned room.
The police registered an FIR on Thursday under Sahibabad police station in Ghaziabad, on the fourth day after the incident.
Sushma, mother of the victim, said that she along with her husband and three children live in a rented accommodation in Singh's house. They originally hail from district Raebareli in Uttar Pradesh.
"The police registered the case under Section 376, 506 of IPC and Protection of Children from Sexual Offense Act (POCSO). Raids are being conducted to arrest the culprit," said Superintendent of Police Salman Taj Patil.IANS For Latest Updates Please-
