Delhi HC extends suspension of functioning till July 15 Last Updated : 29 Jun 2020 08:27:15 PM IST High Court of Delhi Keeping in view the spike in number of Covid-19 cases, the Delhi High Court, here on Monday, extended suspension of its as well as subordinate courts' physical functioning till July 15.
"The hon'ble administrative and general supervision committee of this court while considering further extension of suspended functioning of this court and taking note of the prevalent situation has been pleased to order that the suspended functioning of the High Court of Delhi and the courts subordinate to it shall stand extended till July 15," an office order of the high court, signed by Registrar General Manoj Jain, read.All the pending matters, listed before this court from July 1 to to July 15, would stand adjourned to the corresponding dates between August 26 and September 9, respectively. All the High Court Benches would, however, take up urgent matters through video link as per the roster.In the last 24 hours on Monday, the country registered 19,459 new cases, pushing the tally to 5,48,318, according to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.The country continued to be the fourth worst hit among 213 countries, with 2,10,120 active cases and 16,475 deaths. So far, 3,21,722 people have been discharged from hospitals. The recovery rate is 58.56 per cent.According to the Health Ministry data, 380 deaths were recorded in a day, taking the Covid-19 toll to 16,475.
