US President Donald Trump to visit India on February 24-25 Last Updated : 11 Feb 2020 11:05:52 AM IST US President Donald Trump with wife Melania Trump (file photo) US President Donald Trump will visit India on a two-day visit later this month, the White House announced it on Tuesday. This will be his first visit to India after becoming the President of the US.
House press secretary Stephanie Grisham told Trump's wife Melania Trump would accompany him to India. He will travel to New Delhi and Ahmedabad during this two-day visit on February 24 and 25.Grisham said that during a phone conversation over the weekend, Trump and Prime Minister Narendra Modi agreed that the visit would further strengthen the Indo-US strategic partnership and underline the strong and lasting relationship between the American-Indian people.Former US President Barack Obama has also visited India in 2010 and 2015.MR of IndiaSpora Rangaswamy told PTI, " US President Trump is going to India at the right time in view of resolving bilateral trade issues and underlining US-India cooperation."Mukesh Aghi, head of the US-India Strategic and Partnership Forum, said, "It is important to give a message to the region that India is an important partner and the President values it."
