Three persons were arrested, following a brief gunfight, for murdering a government-run liquor outlet employee here last month, police said on Sunday.

The accused have been identified as Pankaj, 41, a resident of Delhi's Moti Bagh, and Uttar Pradesh residents Dharmender Yadav, 22, of Firozabad and Vivek Kashyap, 20, a resident of Gautambudh Nagar.
On December 20, they had stopped and attacked Brij Bhushan Prasad, an assistant manager of a Delhi Tourism and Transportation Development Corporation (DTTDC) liquor outlet, in Mehrauli area of south Delhi as he was returning home.
Prasad was seriously injured and succumbed in hospital the next morning. The whole incident was captured on CCTV cameras installed at a nearby shop.

"Pankaj, Dharmender Yadav and Vivek Kashyap were arrested on Saturday evening, following an gunfight while they were coming to meet one of their associate in Mohan Garden in Uttam Nagar area (of west Delhi). Seeing policemen, Pankaj opened fire at them.
Police team also fired in the air and managed to overpower the trio and arrest them," said Deputy Commissioner of Police Ishwar Singh.
Police in investigating the case, received a clue after examining the CCTV footage of a liquor outlets where Prasad worked and were on trail of the three.
"Pankaj, Yadav and Kashyap told interrogators that they hatched a plan to rob and eliminate Prasad. They followed and attacked Prasad, having thought that he was carrying cash," Singh said, adding that after attacking Prasad, they found no cash in his possession.
