Mamata contributes Rs 10 lakh for fight against coronavirus Last Updated : 31 Mar 2020 08:36:24 PM IST West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee (file photo) West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Tuesday announced that she would be contributing Rs 5 lakh to the Prime Minister's National Relief Fund and a like amount to the West Bengal State Emergency Relief Fund to support the country's efforts in fighting coronavirus.
"Out of my limited resources, I am contributing Rs 5 lakh to the Prime Minister's National Relief Fund & another Rs 5 lakh to the West Bengal State Emergency Relief Fund in an attempt to support our country's efforts in fighting the coronavirus," Banerjee tweeted.Banerjee said she does not take any salary as legislator or chief minister and has limited means."I do not take any salary as an MLA or a Chief Minister & I have also foregone my MP pension despite being a 7-time Member of Parliament.
