J&K: 5 people of the same family die as car falls into gorge Last Updated : 12 Feb 2020 10:42:15 AM IST file photo In Kishtwar district of Jammu and Kashmir, a vehicle slipped on a road and fell into a deep gorge, killing five members of the same family, including two women.
A police officer said that the accident occurred when the family was taking the body of a child from Jammu to Drbashalla in his village Bahadad to perform the last rites.Officials said that the driver of the private car near Pani Nala lost control of the vehicle.The deceased have been identified as Pawan Kumar (32), his wife Rekha Devi (26), Rita Devi (30), Kewal Krishnan (37) and P. Kumar (30).Senior Congress leader and former Minister G. M. Saruri expressed grief over the deaths and said that repeated road accidents in Doda, Kishtwar, Ramban and Udhampur districts should be a matter of grave concern for Jammu and Kashmir Prashan."This is a situation that all of us, especially the Transport, Traffic Police, National Highways Authority and Border Roads Organization should take immediate care of," he said.IANS Jammu For Latest Updates Please-
