Amarnath Yatra attack: HM Rajnath Singh chairs review meet Last Updated : 11 Jul 2017 01:08:57 PM IST File photo: Home Minister Rajnath Singh
Home Minister Rajnath Singh on Tuesday chaired a high level meeting at the MHA to review security after the deadly attack on Amarnath Yatris on Monday evening.
The meeting took place at 11.p.m.
The review meet was attended by NSA Ajit Doval, heads of intelligence agencies besides top officials of the defence and home ministry.
Home Secretary designate Rajeev Gauba was also present in absence of Rajeev Mehrishi, who is on a 10 day UK trip (for Vijay Mallya extradition).
Seven pilgrims have been killed and 17 others injured after terrorists attacked a bus carrying Amarnath Yatris in Jammu and Kashmir's Anantang district on Monday.
According to the reports, the terrorists were in two groups and executed the attack with local support.
Initial inputs also indicate the role of Lashkar-e-Taiyba in the attack.
The terrorists may be present in nearby areas planning to carry out more strikes.
