Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who is currently in Israel on a three day visit, met Israeli President Reuven Rivlin on Wednesday in Jerusalem.

Modi, who reached Israel on Tuesday evening, was welcomed at the airport by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu himself.

'Aapka swagat hai mere dost', Netanyahu said welcoming PM Modi to Israel.

"We love India, admire your culture, history, democracy and commitment to progress. I am confident of the real mathematics of life, of success of our partnership for many reasons," Netanyahu said as he welcomed Modi.

We can do even better together. Formula for success is simple, it's I-squared and T-squared, equals Indian talent and Israel technology, equals India-Israel ties for tomorrow," Israeli PM added.

Thanking Netanyahu for the welcome, Mosi said that he is honoured to be the first ever Prime Minister of India to undertake this groundbreaking visit to Israel.

"I am keen to interact with Indian diaspora in Israel, including large number of Jews of Indian origin," Modi said.

"Alongside building a partnership for shared economic prosperity, we are also cooperating to secure our societies against common threats such as terrorism:," PM Modi added.

"A progressive partnership in all these areas would shape the scope of my conversation with my friend PM Benjamin Netanyahu," Modi said.

On his first day, Modi first visited Danziger Flower Farm where Crysanthumun flower was named as 'Modi' in his honour. The flower will be called 'Modi' from now.

Then he went to Yad Vashem memorial where he paid a tribute and laid wreath to victims of the Holocaust.

Modi even signed a visitors' book at the memorial.

He also visited the grave of Benjamin Ze'ev Herzl in Jerusalem.
