Lok Sabha MP Ranjeet Ranjan on Tuesday raised the issue of the arrest of her husband and MP Rajesh Ranjan alias Pappu Yadav in Bihar and asked if protesting was a crime in a democracy like India. Without naming Pappu Yadav, Ranjan said the legislator was arrested at 8 p.m. and was threatened with being beaten up by police. The Patna police on Monday night arrested Madhepura Member of Parliament Pappu Yadav, hours after his supporters clashed with police during a protest march towards the state assembly to protest power tariff hike. | ||||||||
