India has conveyed its concern over H-1B to US: Prasad Last Updated : 07 Mar 2017 05:43:16 PM IST (File photo)
India has already conveyed its concerns to the US over its move to curb H-1B visa processing, IT Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad said here on Tuesday.
"Our concerns had been conveyed to the US government. Indian IT companies are giving very good value addition to the American companies. They are servicing more than 75 per cent of the Fortune 500 companies. They are making them more competitive and giving them extraordinary value addition," Prasad said.
He was speaking to reporters at the inaugural session of the three-day conference on the 'ICEGOV 2017-10th International Conference on Theory and Practice of Electronic Governance' here.
"They (Indian IT companies) have created more than 400,000 jobs. Indian IT companies and IT professionals are giving lot of openings to American companies in India - in terms of research, in terms of high-end quality products and in terms of patents," the Minister said.
"The whole IT movement in the world has been based upon sharing, upon quality and upon reciprocity," he added.
The US recently said it will temporarily suspend premium processing of H-1B visas from April 3.
