This is part of the government's January plan when it enhanced the CISF's strength to 1.80 lakh. CISF spokesperson Manjit Singh told IANS that 20, 000 personnel, including over 1,700 women, have already been selected to undergo a nine-month training programme from April before their induction into the force.
