Several Indian-origin groups have stood up against proposed Gandhi statue in London's Parliament Square. The activists of the group are against honouring a person, as great as Mahatma Gandhi, for his "despicable sexual exploitation of women" to test his celibacy and his covert approval of the caste system. The opposition has led to pressure on British Government to abandon its much publicised plan to build Gandhi's statue to stand alongside those of some of the world’s other great statesmen.
