Nearly six years after the horrific terrorist attacks of November 26, 2008, one of the buildings that was targeted during the strike will rise from the ashes. Nariman House in Colaba, the centre of the Israeli Chabad-Lubavitch movement, reopens as part-museum. The Jewish learning centre, was one of the main targets of Pakistani terrorists who held Mumbai to ransom for four days in November 2008. Rabbi Gavriel Holtzberg, his pregnant wife Rivky and four others were killed in the attack. Their two-year old son Moshe was saved by his Indian nanny, Sandra Samuel. Now both of them are in Israel. Now the fully renovated six-storeyed Nariman House in South Mumbai’s Colaba area will see a special gathering of 25 Rabbis representing the Jewish community from all over Asia following which the centre will be inaugurated. In memory of the tragedy, a museum is to be set up on the fourth and fifth floors at a cost of $ 2.5 million.
