- Luxury cars on display at auto car show
The Auto car Performance Show kicked off on Thursday with top car and two wheeler makers displaying their latest product launches in Mumbai. The show is in its tenth edition and over 100,000 people are expected to visit over four days. Last year, the show attracted around 80,000 visitors. South Korean auto giant Hyundai has showcased its luxury sedan Genesis this year. "What we have here is only a concept. We wanted to showcase Hyundai's capabilities and get a feedback. But there are no launch plans," said Sanjay Gupta, senior GM, Hyundai. However, market speculations say the company wants to bring the Genesis to India in 2015 as experts feel that it would not seek feedback unless it had plans to launch in the future. Hyundai also displayed its planned launches this year, including the Xcent compact sedan and the Elite i20. Hyundai's main rival Maruti Suzuki also had its refreshed Swift, the Alto K10 and the Ciaz sedan on display. Other car makers such as Honda, Ford, Volkswagen, Skoda and Tata Motors showcased their latest launches. The luxury car makers also showcased offerings such as the Bentley Continental GT, Mercedes SLK55 AMG, BMW M4 Coupe, Jaguar F Type and Audi A4 premium sport. DSK Motowheels showcased its full range of Benelli super bikes. Its rivals Harley Davidson and Triumph were also present with their iconic bikes.
