'Kadvi Hawa' the well known experiment in cinema Last Updated : 19 Nov 2017 06:18:34 PM IST 'Kadvi Hawa' team (Courtesy: Drishyam films)
Drishyam Films and Nila Madhav Panda in 'Kadvi Hawa' have done their best to be well-known experiment in Cinema. They have put all their energies into movies that are interestingly idiosyncratic, smart, and more than a little enigmatic. In other words, their small-scale productions reflect deeply their shaping influences. They have made no reference to some media-crafted image in the movie.
As far as my opinion goes, Filmmaking is not about writing a love letter. Some money goes into it. In some, it is a lot and others. But movies are not made only with money. Movies are made from the heart. Big films also meet with failure. If there’s no heart in the film, then it won’t work.
It is a rare Hindi film that deals with the parallel life in Bundelkhand and less the topical subject of environmental change. The movie attracts the creative minds, because it emphasizes craft over innovation and experiment on radicalism, ever seen in the European cinema.

In the movie a blind father of a heavily indebted and depressed farmer from the Mahua region, in his pursuit to save the son from committing suicide and save his family, ends up helping the ruthless bank agent aka 'death god' and his family who become victims of a natural calamity.
The first song of the film, 'Main Banjar' composed by Santosh Jagdale, and sung by Mohan Kannan, is a desolate ode to the changing scenario of life and earth. The lyrics written by Mukta Bhatt draw parallels between human life and the nature that surrounds it.
Kannan's deep bass voice give the song a further gravitas that is elevated towards the latter half, as the composition speeds up into a more urgent call for attention.
Sanjai Mishra's intensity on screen makes the song visually compelling. The actor looks in fine form as he plays the old blind man who has seen nature, and life, crumble into destruction around him. From expressing absolute sorrow, to confusion and helplessness, the actor does not miss a beat in his performance.
