Indian humorist and playwright Taarak Mehta passed away on Wednesday morning after a prolonged illness. He was 88.
Mehta breath his last in Ahemedabad and his family intend to donate his body to science
Born in December 26, 1929, Mehta was honoured with Padma Shri in 2015.
Mehta's famous works include "Duniya Ne Undha Chasma", which inspired the hit Hindi sitcom " Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah".Mehta used to write for Gujarati dailies like Divya Bhaskar besides other publications like Chitralekha. He was awarded the Padma Shri in 2015 for his literary contributions.
