Share Market Today: Sensex up 1,000 points, Nifty gains 300 Last Updated : 31 Mar 2020 03:26:23 PM IST file photo Rally continued in the Indian stock market on Tuesday afternoon as the BSE Sensex rose over 1,000 points. The Nifty50 on the National Stock Exchange (NSE) rose 300 points to trade above the 8,500 mark. The gains were in tandem with the rise in Asian markets.
At 12. 42 p.m. Sensex was trading at 29,467.43, higher by 1,027.11, or 3.61 per cent from the previous close of 28,440.32. It had opened at 29,294.94 and has so far touched an intra-day high of 29,502.88 and a low of 28,667.36 points.The Nifty was trading at 8,586.05, higher by 304.95 points or 3.68 per cent from its previous close.Gains were witnessed across sectors, with healthy buying in metal, energy and oil & gas stocks.So far, the major gainers were HDFC, ONGC and HCL Technologies, while IndusInd Bank and Maruti Suzuki were the only losers
