The textile workers in Surat are protesting against the GST. Many traders even intend to sit on a hunger strike. The textile workers in Surat has adopted a novel method to oppose the implementation of GST.

The saris cost just Rs 110 and they are much in demand. The sari traders are getting orders for such GST saris not just from Gujarat, but also from other states such as Uttar Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh and Delhi.
During the protest of the textile workers Police reached at the spot and protesters were dispersed.
